Frequently asked questions
What is Peppol?
Peppol is an international network that accounting software uses to send and receive e-invoices. A company joins it through its accounting software or a Peppol provider.
Do I have to use e-invoices?
Not in general: the official rules so far are for government agencies and their large suppliers. Our guide to e-invoicing in New Zealand has the details.
How do I find my own Peppol ID?
It is made from your NZBN. The Peppol ID finder shows how yours is written, and whether you’re registered.
Are my numbers or files stored?
No. Most tools run in your browser, so your files never leave your computer. The Peppol check sends the number to our server only to do the lookup; it is never stored or logged.
Is this site official?
No. einvoiceconvert.com is an independent, free website. It isn’t affiliated with the New Zealand Government or OpenPeppol. Every rule we show links to its official source.
