How do I register my business on Peppol?
You can't register directly on Peppol. It always happens through a recognised Peppol service provider, in practice usually through invoicing or accounting software that is connected to Peppol. The government publishes a list of such software.
Registering on Peppol means a Peppol service provider puts your business on the network, so other businesses can send you e-invoices. You don’t do this yourself.
How do I register my business?
According to the official FAQ, you can’t register directly on Peppol. It can only be done through a recognised Peppol service provider. In practice, it works like this:
- Do you already use invoicing or accounting software? Check whether it’s on the government’s list of compliant software, and whether it lets you both send and receive. If it isn’t listed, ask your provider whether Peppol is planned.
- Do you make invoices in Word, Excel or on paper? Then you need software that is connected to Peppol. Choose one from the government’s list.
- Does your software let you choose an Access Point yourself? Then contact a certified Peppol service provider.
Your provider registers you under at least your enterprise number, with the code 0208. That is your Peppol ID.
How do I check if the registration worked?
After registering, enter your own enterprise number in the Peppol check above. If you see “Yes, this company can receive e-invoices via Peppol”, you’re on the network and you accept invoices.
What does it cost?
The government doesn’t mention prices and doesn’t offer a free application itself. The official list does include solutions that are partly free or available at a limited price. Compare what you need: only receiving, sending as well, or also processing in your accounts.
